Today, Erev Rosh Hashanah, has been a wonderful day thus far. I let myself sleep in a little bit, which felt really great, then took my time getting up. I decided that I was seriously missing my once-regular workouts, so I laced up my Nikes, grabbed my i-pod, and headed out with my jump rope in hand. After a solid couple of minutes of stretching, I ran through and out of the living campus, and to a park area that is a couple blocks away. I found a perfect, flat ground to effectively jump rope, and did so for a number of songs on my i-pod... After that I spent about half an hour or forty-five minutes doing various drills that I learned at boxing. I gotta say: I felt really hardcore using the park and nature to workout, and the heat of Israel definitely contributed to the sweat-fest that I worked up. When I finished I ran back to my apartment a different way than I came, and upon return really really appreciated the freezing cold water that I had in my fridge. After an awesome shower, I got dressed and packed up a bag to head to the Jacobson's for Rosh Hashanah!!
I walked with my friend to the bus station a little while away from our living campus, and with Carol's awesome direction-help boarded the appropriate bus to get to Ra'anana. Well actually, first I had to get to Bnei B'rak but after a bus-transfer and a walk across the street I made it to the 567 bus. Docta J, Dahlia, and Yonit so kindly picked me up from the bus station and we headed back to their place to get ready for chag. Even though I was just here earlier this week, it was a beautiful experience walking through their door again. The Jacobson love is totally indescribable and irreplaceable so I could not be happier that I get to spend Rosh Hashanah with them. Can't wait!
I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a Tizku L'shanim Rabot (or Shana Tova- depending on what side of Morgan St. you'll be attending synagogue this holiday), and I hope that your Tefilot are successful and your (Honey Crisp) apples in honey are delicious!
Shana Tova!!!!
